I had originally changed this to single display mode due to an identified performance issue in Age of Conan. Windows apparently found all of the standard drivers for all of my hardware, which is a first. I think originally what happened, was I deleted some temp files yesterday. Black screen issues that early on in the boot process pretty much point to only the CPU or motherboard. I did the following:1) Turned off and unplugged computer.2) Took out GPU.3) Reset BIOS/CMOS.4) Plugged monitor into motherboard output.5) Started computer. I even removed the memory to see if i'd get any warning beeps, award bios.
Anybody got any ideas why i shouldn't be getting a beep or post screen? Sign up now. The screen goes black, i think it freezes there, though i'm not sure because my friend only told me this stuff over the phone. Any suggestions as to what im doing wrong?

So today i started it up again and it finally booted to the windows logo and then finally to desktop. I wonder if microsoft planned that to help get rid of AMD, I guess I will try that next time, but from now on auto update will be forever turned off. I've replaced the psu with a qtec 350w, replaced the mobo with an asus p4r800 vm and the new cpu is a p4 2. 8 ht and changed the memory to help??
Everyhing "seems" to lock up when it flashes in that you can't see the cursor move or "seem" to press any keys but it is actually just not reporting those actions
