Solution was to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver VERSION: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02219204&cc=nl&lc=en&dlc=en&product I am running a Western Digital HDD but only a 500GB. The fix for me was to go into Windows Update and change the settings to "Never check for updates (not recommended)", click OK, and then change it back to "Install updates Windows Defender is disabled by most AV suites so it boggles my mind how it would be still running and screw up Windows Update like this!
